Donna Cain, viola

Donna plays viola in Tactus and also with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Norman Philharmonic, and Lawton Philharmonic. She is the principal violist in the Oklahoma Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra.  While living in New Jersey she was assistant principal viola with the Masterwork Orchestra and the St. Cecilia Orchestra in New York City as well as the Princeton Chamber Symphony, and performed regularly with the Brunswick Symphony, New Jersey Choral Society, New Jersey Pops, and Princeton Pro Musica.  She is in demand as a free-lance violist for chamber music, commercial recordings, Broadway shows, and popular performing artists.  Currently teaching a private studio, she taught for 19 years at Oklahoma City University, teaching viola and violin, chamber ensembles, and directing the OCU Viola Ensemble.  She received her Master of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Michigan,  her Bachelor of Music with Honors from Denison University, and additional postgraduate studies in New York City with William Lincer.
