Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. He is also the Director of the Kemp Concert Series and the Music Director at the First Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City, where he leads the Kemp Concert Choir in performances of major works from the choral-orchestral repertoire, including Handel’s Messiah, Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem, Mozart Requiem, and the Beethoven Mass in C. He served for ten years as Music Director of Arbor Opera Theater in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and for seven years as Music Director of the Ann Arbor Cantata Singers. A native of Oklahoma City, he studied music composition at Yale University, choral conducting at Indiana University, instrumental conducting at Bard College, and received the doctoral degree in orchestral conducting from the University of Michigan. A graduate of the Historical Performance Institute at Indiana University, she has enjoyed collaborations with period chamber ensembles Brooklyn Baroque, Soul's Delight, and Queen's Consort. As half of the duo Well-Tuned Words with lutenist Erik Ryding, she toured in the U.S. and Europe and recorded Great Wonder, an album of songs by Dowland, Danyel, and Campion. Other highlights include touring Ireland with Gare St. Lazare Players in their acclaimed theatre work Here All Night, based on the words and music of Samuel Beckett, and recording two well-regarded albums with treble-voice ensemble Etherea. Carey began his Musical studies at Oklahoma City University graduating with a degree in guitar performance. Patrick received his BMA (Minor in Education) from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Master’s of Music in Percussion Performance from Oklahoma City University. He also holds a Performance Certificate from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the UK. Patrick has performed in many different ensembles including the Fort Smith Symphony, Oklahoma Composer’s Orchestra, Great Plains Percussion Group, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, TACTUS, and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. As well as performing, Patrick holds teaching positions as adjunct professor of percussion at Southern Nazarene University and Oklahoma Baptist University.
